Preview (Drew Saturday)

In Drew’s Dimension, Columbia, AR, Columbus High School,

Drew sits at her desk as the teacher, the principal, and two new students walk nto the classroom. Suddenly, Drew recognizes the new student.

“What is she doing here?” Drew thought.

“Class, we have two new students joining us today. Go ahead and introduce yourselves, sweetie.” The principal said.

“Sure, I’m Natasha Davis.” One of the new students said.

“N…N…Nathan S…S…Sable,” the other one said nervously.

“Seriously? Natasha… Come on, Agent sixty-six. Couldn’t you have thought of something less conspicuous? And, what’s with that phony accent? You’re British.” Drew thought.

“Drew Saturday, raise your hand. You can take the seat next her, Natasha.” The teacher said.

Suddenly, Drew’s phone vibrates in her pocket. “Saturday?” Drew thought.

“A Cosmic Entity is entering the atmosphere.”

“Like Avery and Dante?”

“No, this is nowhere near the power they give off. But its energy levels still pose a possible danger to the planet, resulting in mutations to both people and animals.”

“Well, technically they’re already mutant people and animals.” Drew replied.

“You know that’s not what I’m talking about.” Saturday said.

“Remind me to upgrade your joke protocols later. For now, keep an eye on the Cosmic Entity and analyze the person. I’ll check out the data later.”

“Understood,” Saturday responded.

“A cosmic entity? I wonder what it could be. Maybe some kind of godlike being coming to Earth. I think Dante said that there were some alien dragons in his dimensions. It could be that. Wait, didn’t he also say that there were some worms causing some earthquakes in his Europe. Man, I hope that doesn’t happen here.” Drew thought as the teacher called on her multiple times. “Uh, yes!” she said, snapping out of her train of thought.

“Care to answer my question on the board.” The teacher said, showing a diagram of three compound structures.

“H2O or Water… NH3 or Ammonia… C2H6O or Ethanol, usually found in everyday objects we use in our everyday life.” Drew said.

“Correct… Try to pay attention to my class, even if you know the material, " the teacher said as she turned to the board.

“Yes ma’am”

“So that’s Drew Saturday… the Genius of geniuses. What… a… let…down.” Nathan thought.

“Something must’ve just happened for her to be so zoned out.” Natasha thought.

Later that day, Nathan and Natasha see Drew at her locker, placing books into it and talking to herself. She walks towards them, causing them to hide.
